Juvenile Bearded Screech-Owl Megascops barbarus, endemic to the highlands of Guatemala and the neighboring Mexican state of Chiapas.

My primary research interests are the distribution of birds in Guatemala and the natural history of selected species. I led research on the distribution and natural history of the regional endemic and globally Endangered Azure-rumped Tanager, on the distribution and natural history of owls in Guatemala, the rediscovery of the resident wetmorei subspecies of Savannah Sparrow, on bird inventories of several Important Bird Areas. I also contributed to the biology and conservation of Highland Guan, Horned Guan, Resplendent Quetzal and others (more details).

It follows a list of publication in chronological order, which also include some contributions to the herpetology of Guatemala, to the ecology of Jackdaw in Germany, and to local dragonfly faunas in Germany:
